Abstract

Language is the sounds that people use to express their thoughts. Without mother language, people cannot express their feelings satisfactorily. Mother language is an immense blessing from Almighty Allah. There are more than six thousand languages in the world. These languages are the mother language of each population. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has sent numerous Prophets and Messengers (Alyhimus Salam) throughout the ages to guide mankind to the right path. The heavenly books that were revealed to them were in the language of the native people of those prophets and messengers. If the heavenly books sent to the prophets and messengers had not been revealed in their native languages, their nations and communities would not have been able to understand them. If the heavenly books had been revealed in a language other than the native tongues of the prophets and messengers, it would have been much more difficult for the prophets and messengers to call their communities to the light of religion. Therefore, it can be said that the importance of the mother language in Islam is immense.
